As a Lead Science Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of science education. You will lead the development of high-quality teaching and learning practices, support colleagues, and drive student success across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning in science lessons and intervention sessions.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring support to staff and students within the department.
  • Evaluate and report on the impact of learning strategies to senior and middle leaders.
  • Design and deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions for science teachers.
  • Support the implementation of the school’s academic curriculum and extracurricular science initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Teaching & Learning Team to drive continuous improvement in pedagogical practice.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support where needed.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant science subject knowledge.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a science department.
  • Strong track record in delivering high-quality science teaching and learning.
  • Experience in providing coaching and mentoring to colleagues.
  • Ability to evaluate and report on the impact of teaching strategies.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading CPD sessions for teachers.
  • Familiarity with the Aspire curriculum and extracurricular science programmes.
  • Experience in using innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
