The Opportunity:

As a Lead Systems Developer, you will lead the development and enhancement of the school’s web application systems and timetable balancing tools. This role is pivotal in supporting the school’s mission to deliver innovative, high-quality education through technology. You will work closely with leadership and curriculum teams to create bespoke solutions that drive efficiency and improve student outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, programming, and maintenance of web applications and related systems using modern web technologies.
  • Deliver enhancements to the school’s timetable balancing tools and other critical systems.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership, curriculum, and support teams to identify and implement bespoke web solutions.
  • Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with the school’s strategic goals.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior developers and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in web development.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure systems are well-maintained and supported.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the school’s digital infrastructure and services.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in leading systems development and web application projects.
  • Strong proficiency in web development technologies and programming languages.
  • Experience working in an educational or similar institutional environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, user-focused solutions.

Preferred

  • Experience with timetable management systems or similar educational software.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with data management and integration tools.
