The Opportunity:

As a Learning Coach, you will provide tailored support to pupils in a disadvantaged community, helping them achieve their full potential. This is a maternity cover role, offering a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a high-performing school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils in a one-to-one, small group, and whole class setting.
  • Assist teachers with planning, preparing, and delivering lessons.
  • Contribute to the development of individual learning plans.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress and report back to teachers.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to enhance pupil outcomes.
  • Follow the National Curriculum and ensure alignment with school objectives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with children in a school setting.
  • Working knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Ability to support learning and teaching effectively.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to working with disadvantaged pupils.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a leadership specialism.
  • Familiarity with Star Academies values and mission.
  • Experience in a faith-based educational setting.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
