The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic team as a Learning Support Assistant Apprentice, providing essential in-class and pastoral support to students. This role is ideal for those passionate about education and inclusion, offering hands-on experience, structured training, and the potential for a permanent position upon completion of the apprenticeship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in the classroom by assisting with learning and behaviour management.
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students overcome learning barriers.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure consistency in student support.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with staff.
- Assist in the planning and delivery of learning activities tailored to individual needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and encourage student engagement and confidence.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A commitment to working with young people and supporting their learning and development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- A willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an educational or care setting.
- Experience with students with special educational needs and/or disabilities.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
- Experience with teaching or learning support in a school environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary based on the National Apprenticeship Rate (£7.55 - £12.21 per hour).
- Full-time, term-time only contract with the potential for permanent employment after 18 months.
