Summary:
Learning Support Assistant (Autism / SEMH) role with a focus on supporting students with special educational needs.

It prioritises the development of academic, emotional, and life skills through a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach.
The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant (Autism / SEMH), you will play a vital role in supporting students with autism and complex needs within a dedicated SEN setting. You will work closely with teachers and the therapy team to ensure each student receives the individualised support they need to thrive academically and socially. Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in their assigned tutor group across all lessons and transitions.
- Collaborate with teachers and therapists to deliver individualised support plans.
- Promote the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
- Assist with the implementation of strategies to support students with autism and SEMH needs.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students during breaks and other non-academic times.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with the teaching team.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with students with autism or SEMH needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
Preferred
- Knowledge of EHCP processes and special educational needs frameworks.
- Experience in a SEN or mainstream school setting.
- Previous experience with students aged 7 to 16.
- Familiarity with therapeutic interventions and support strategies.
