The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work 1:1 with autistic learners to support their educational journey and help them build independence and confidence. This role is ideal for those with a passion for SEN / SEND and autism support, and offers extensive training and a supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support autistic learners aged 16–25 in accessing learning and developing life skills.
- Provide 1:1 assistance both on campus and in the community.
- Assist with personal care as required.
- Work closely with teaching staff and specialists to deliver tailored support.
- Promote independence, confidence, and social development.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all learners.
- Collaborate with other support staff to create personalized learning plans.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with autistic learners or in SEN / SEND settings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide 1:1 support and personal care.
- Commitment to promoting independence and confidence in learners.
- Flexibility and willingness to work in a dynamic, supportive environment.
Preferred
- Experience in learning support, teaching assistant, or youth work roles.
- Background in education, psychology, or care settings.
- Knowledge of autism and SEND best practices.
- Experience with person-centered approaches to education and support.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary range of £25,837 - £27,165 per annum.
- Term time only working with pay across 52 weeks.
