The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students reach their full potential. This position supports students with learning challenges and those learning English as an additional language, working closely with teachers and parents to ensure every student thrives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with specific learning needs and English as an Additional Language.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individual learning plans.
- Maintain positive, professional relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Promote equal opportunities and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Deliver targeted support during lessons and in small group settings.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
- Attend meetings and contribute to the planning of learning support activities.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to student progress and records.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A degree or equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A good command of the English language and understanding of grammar.
- Experience working with students with learning difficulties or EAL needs.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Flexibility and a willingness to work outside of standard hours when required.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Knowledge of inclusive teaching strategies.
- Experience with educational software and technology.
- A proactive approach to continuous professional development.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary scale (Pt 10 – 14).
- Term time only contract with 39 weeks of work and 5 INSET days.
- Additional hours available during the academic year.
