The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential. You will provide individual and group support both in and out of the classroom, and assist with personal care and mobility for students with physical needs. This is a rewarding role that makes a real difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in class and provide one-to-one and small group interventions outside of lessons.
- Assist with personal care and mobility for a student with physical needs, including toileting, dressing, eating, transfers, and implementing physiotherapy programmes.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to improve student outcomes.
- Deliver targeted interventions to help students with additional needs.
- Provide a safe, caring, and encouraging environment for students.
- Attend training sessions and follow school policies and procedures.
- Communicate regularly with parents and carers to support student progress.
- Contribute to the overall positive and inclusive school culture.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Good literacy and numeracy skills.
- Experience of working with students with additional needs.
- Commitment to improving outcomes for all students.
- Ability to provide personal care and mobility support, including hoisting and transfers.
- Flexibility to work term time and some inset days.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a similar support role.
- Experience with physiotherapy programmes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working within a school environment.
