The Opportunity:
A Learning Support Assistant is needed to provide essential support to students with Special Educational Needs and those requiring additional assistance. This role plays a vital part in ensuring students receive tailored support, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential within a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support teachers in delivering the curriculum to students with Special Educational Needs.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of modified and adapted learning materials.
- Provide individual and group support to students in developing language, literacy, numeracy, motor skills, and behaviour.
- Monitor and supervise students during the daily homework club.
- Encourage independent learning and help students stay focused and on task.
- Write work on behalf of students when required.
- Ensure a safe and caring environment for all students.
- Evaluate student progress and provide verbal feedback to the class teacher.
- Support the school’s Behaviour Policy and attend relevant training and meetings.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Good academic qualifications.
- Strong organisational, administrative, and communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly with young people.
- A flexible approach and willingness to go the extra mile.
- Commitment, reliability, and patience.
Preferred
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs.
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Experience in writing or preparing educational materials.
- Familiarity with curriculum planning and delivery.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary in line with the BR4 pay scale.
- 5.6 weeks of paid holiday per year.
