The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our collaborative and forward-thinking team. This role is central to supporting students in their academic and personal growth, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with their learning and personal development both individually and in groups.
- Establish excellent relationships with staff, pupils, and parents.
- Provide focused support for children with identified special needs.
- Support teaching and learning inside and outside of the classroom by working with identified children and focus groups.
- Deliver intervention programmes set by the class teacher and report on the progress made by pupils.
- Support school events, trips, and visits.
- Assist with maintaining the learning environment and presentation of pupils’ work.
- Undertake break, lunch, and other duties as required.
- Deliver basic first aid if needed (training will be provided).
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- The equivalent of a grade C or 4 in English and Maths at GCSE.
- Previous school experience.
- Commitment to the ethos of the school.
- Strong communication skills with children and young people.
- Understanding of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Preferred
- Experience working in an All-Through school.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Up-to-date awareness of current issues and challenges in education.
