The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to reach their full potential. This is a part-time, term-time only position that offers a rewarding and impactful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with learning needs through individualised and group-based assistance.
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
- Assist in the preparation of resources and materials to support teaching and learning.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students in a variety of subjects.
- Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
- Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
- Ensure the safe and orderly movement of students throughout the school day.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to their learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work flexibly and independently as well as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Experience in a similar support role or willingness to learn and develop in this area.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a learning support or teaching assistant role.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
- Experience with using learning technologies and resources.
