The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students to reach their full potential. This is a part-time, term-time only position that offers a rewarding and impactful opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning needs through individualised and group-based assistance.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation of resources and materials to support teaching and learning.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students in a variety of subjects.
  • Monitor and record student progress and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
  • Ensure the safe and orderly movement of students throughout the school day.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work flexibly and independently as well as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Experience in a similar support role or willingness to learn and develop in this area.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a learning support or teaching assistant role.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs or disabilities.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
  • Experience with using learning technologies and resources.
