As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in assisting young adults with their learning and behaviour, while building positive relationships and providing individualised support. Key Responsibilities:
- Support young adults with their learning, behaviour, and personal development
- Build strong, positive relationships with students and act as a role model
- Assist with individualised learning plans and adapt support strategies as needed
- Promote a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure consistent support
- Provide guidance and support to students in managing their individual needs
- Participate in training and development opportunities
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and welfare policies
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Previous experience supporting young people
- NVQ Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant field
- Commitment to working with young adults with autism and Asperger's syndrome
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations
Preferred
- Experience in an educational or care setting
- Knowledge of autism and Asperger's syndrome
- Experience with behaviour management strategies
- Experience with teaching or learning support
