The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students across multiple key stages and sites. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people’s lives while developing your career in education with access to in-house and external training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with Dyslexia and SpLDs in a small class setting, tailoring learning to individual needs.
  • Work closely with specialist class teachers to deliver a creative and effective curriculum.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individual learning plans.
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and qualifications.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and teaching staff.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture that values teamwork and innovation.
  • Promote the welfare and safeguarding of students at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for supporting young people with learning differences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience working in an educational setting, ideally with students with special educational needs.

Preferred

  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant.
  • Knowledge of SpLDs and dyslexia-friendly teaching strategies.
  • Experience with the National Curriculum and GCSE preparation.
  • Ability to complete further qualifications such as the Teaching Assistant Development Pathway or Level 3 SpLD qualifications.
  • Flexibility to work across multiple sites and key stages.
