Key Responsibilities:
- Support students with special educational needs in a variety of learning and personal care activities.
- Assist with daily routines including toileting, feeding, and personal hygiene.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support professionals to meet individual student needs.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students develop independence and life skills.
- Monitor and report on student progress to ensure consistent support and development.
- Maintain a safe and positive learning environment for all students.
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development.
- Follow safeguarding and welfare policies to ensure the well-being of students.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
- Experience working with students with special educational needs or disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- A willingness to undertake all aspects of personal care support.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks.
Preferred
- Previous experience in an educational or care setting.
- Experience with students with autism or profound and multiple learning difficulties.
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
- Experience with teaching or supporting life skills.
