As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in a dynamic, inclusive environment. Your work will directly impact the lives of pupils with diverse needs, helping them reach their full potential through tailored learning and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support individual pupils and small groups to engage and learn effectively
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, delivery, and classroom management
- Prepare and organise learning materials and classroom environments
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage participation and progress
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff to meet the unique needs of each student
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning environment
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual learning plans
- Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- GCSE Grade C or above in Maths and English
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Commitment to supporting students with complex needs
Preferred
- Experience in an SEN/ASC setting
- Background in customer-facing roles such as retail, hospitality, or leisure
- Experience with behaviour management strategies
- Knowledge of inclusive education practices
