The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning needs, helping them achieve their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning needs through individual and group interventions.
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of structured learning activities tailored to student needs.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete administrative tasks related to student progress.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Provide one-to-one support where necessary to help students overcome learning barriers.
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to ensure continuous professional development.
  • Collaborate with parents and carers to support student progress and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to supporting students with learning needs.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and complete a KCSIE Declaration.

Preferred

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Previous experience in a learning support or teaching assistant role.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices.
  • Experience in delivering targeted interventions.
