The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs across multiple campuses. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success and well-being, working within a supportive and inclusive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support including scribing, reading, and exam assistance.
  • Assist with personal care tasks such as eating, drinking, and mobility support (training provided).
  • Collaborate with wellbeing and curriculum colleagues to ensure holistic student support.
  • Update student records and report safeguarding concerns when necessary.
  • Work flexibly with a team to deliver tailored support across the curriculum.
  • Engage with students who have a range of educational and physical needs.
  • Contribute to long-term improvements in inclusion and support strategies.
  • Maintain a patient and objective approach in challenging situations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in providing support to students with learning difficulties and disabilities.
  • Ability to work in a challenging environment and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Strong collaboration skills with a cross-college network of colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a team and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred

  • Experience in personal care support or related fields.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding procedures and student welfare.
  • Previous experience in an educational or care setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £24,840 to £25,230 FTE.
