The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting students with complex and diverse needs across multiple campuses. This is a chance to make a meaningful impact on students' learning journeys while working within a collaborative and inclusive team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with complex and diverse needs in a non-teaching capacity.
  • Work under the direction of teaching colleagues and Specialist Tutors to implement support plans and exam access arrangements.
  • Assess individual learner needs and suggest strategies to support their learning and independence.
  • Assist with student transition, enrolment, and induction processes.
  • Provide feedback and modify support plans to help students achieve their learning goals.
  • Prepare learning resources and set up specialist equipment as required.
  • Attend EHCP reviews and contribute to student support strategies.
  • Liaise with external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience of supporting learners with learning support needs.
  • Knowledge of inclusion, disabilities, and self-advocacy issues.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a considerate and tolerant approach.
  • Capacity to keep accurate records and update student information as required.

Preferred

  • Experience working in a multi-campus environment.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education practices and strategies.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience with the creation and management of support documents.
