The Opportunity:
We are seeking a proactive and organised Learning Support Assistant to provide essential teaching and learning support to students. This role plays a key part in helping students achieve their full potential, particularly those who need additional emotional and behavioural support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in lessons through one-to-one and group assistance
- Implement and lead individual interventions to support student progress
- Liaise with parents, carers, teachers, and other professionals as required
- Prepare resources and assist with SEN departmental administration
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to ensure student needs are met
- Provide 1:1 support to students in a safe and encouraging environment
- Participate in professional development and team meetings
- Maintain accurate records and follow school procedures for resource management
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong communication and IT skills
- Ability to work well in a team and provide 1:1 support to students
- Experience or willingness to support students with emotional and behavioural needs
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred
- Experience in education, teaching, or youth work
- Previous experience in a similar support role
- Training or experience in special educational needs (SEN) support
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced school environment
