The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals. This is a key position within a team dedicated to student success and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with individual learning needs as outlined in their Individual Education Plans.
  • Provide assistance with physical, emotional, and behavioural needs of students.
  • Act as an escort for students during school visits or off-site educational provision when required.
  • Help students access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning targets.
  • Communicate student needs and progress to teachers and the SENDCo.
  • Support students in working independently through Hover Support.
  • Deliver one-to-one literacy and numeracy programmes as directed by the SENDCo.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with students with SEND.
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build supportive relationships with students.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to student well-being and academic progress.

Preferred

  • Experience in educational support or teaching environments.
  • Knowledge of literacy and numeracy support strategies.
  • Familiarity with Individual Education Plans and SENDCo processes.
