The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will provide essential support to students with learning needs, helping them achieve their full potential in a supportive and inclusive environment. This role is central to creating a positive and nurturing experience for students, working closely with teachers and support staff to deliver effective learning interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with learning needs in a range of classroom and individual settings.
  • Deliver personalised interventions to help students access the curriculum and improve academic, social, and emotional outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SENCO to ensure inclusive teaching practices.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and development regularly.
  • Promote positive behaviour and create a safe, welcoming environment for all students.
  • Assist in planning and delivering targeted support strategies based on individual learning needs.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive teaching resources and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications in education or learning support, preferably at Level 3.
  • Experience working with students with a range of learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusive education and Gospel values.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Knowledge of SEN support strategies and best practices.
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery for students with additional needs.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding and child protection policies.
