The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated Learning Support Assistant to help support the educational and social development of children with additional needs. This is a rewarding role that offers the chance to work within a passionate and committed team focused on making a positive impact on students' lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional needs in both 1:1 settings and within mainstream classes.
  • Develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider school community.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support staff to ensure the needs of all students are met.
  • Assist in delivering individualized learning plans and support strategies.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities, including apprenticeship programs.
  • Contribute to maintaining a calm and inclusive school environment.
  • Support the school’s mission to ensure every student is empowered to be the best they can be.
  • Assist with administrative and organizational tasks related to student support.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children with additional needs, or willingness to receive training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from others.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of inclusivity, respect, and student well-being.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including term time and INSET days.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in special education or similar support roles.
  • Experience with teaching or supporting students in a school setting.
  • Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies.
  • Experience with behavior management and positive reinforcement techniques.
  • Proficiency in using educational software and tools.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range of £26,824 to £29,540 pro rota.
  • Flexible working hours, up to 32.5 hours per week.
