The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of young people. This role is ideal for someone who wants to support students with complex needs in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in a classroom setting across all key stages, adapting to individual needs and learning styles.
  • Assist class teachers with lesson delivery, behaviour management, and administrative tasks.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and providing emotional support.
  • Collaborate with other staff to ensure consistent support and communication for students.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of individualized education plans.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all students, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Assist with daily routines and activities, including recreational and therapeutic programs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Ability to work with students with complex emotional, behavioural, and learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic and challenging environment.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a classroom or educational support setting.
  • Experience working with students with mental health, attachment, or trauma-related difficulties.
  • Understanding of therapeutic approaches and emotional development in young people.
  • Experience with residential or therapeutic schools.
