Learning Support Assistant KS1/KS2 – Support pupils with SEMH and SEND needs in a nurturing environment.

The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will make a meaningful impact on the lives of pupils with SEMH and SEND needs. You will work in a small, supportive team to help deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons and provide emotional support in a therapeutic and structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils academically and emotionally within Key Stages 1 to 4
- Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons tailored to individual needs
- Help manage challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff
- Provide one-to-one and group support in a structured and nurturing setting
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils at all times
- Assist with the implementation of individual education plans
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom environment
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH and/or SEND
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Experience in a school, PRU, or alternative provision setting
- Willingness to work as part of a team and follow direction
Preferred
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning (or similar)
