The Opportunity:

A Learning Support Assistant is needed to join a new and vital team in the Maple Classroom, supporting children with severe learning difficulties. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student engagement and communication, while working in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with severe learning difficulties in a dedicated classroom setting.
  • Work closely with teaching staff and other support staff to develop and implement individual learning plans.
  • Assist in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for all students.
  • Promote communication and social skills through structured activities and interactions.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and development to senior staff.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behavior.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working as a Learning Support Assistant with children with additional needs.
  • Experience working across the primary age range (4–11 years).
  • Commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children with severe learning difficulties.
  • Knowledge of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience in creating and delivering individual learning plans.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to support a range of learning needs.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • 25 hours per week, term time only.
