As a Learning Support Assistant - Maths, you will play a vital role in supporting students' academic and personal development. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the learning and personal development of pupils to maximise their educational opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff in the maths department to assist in planning and resource management.
- Provide one-to-one learning support and assist in the delivery of maths lessons.
- Deliver detailed verbal and written feedback on lesson content and student progress.
- Use behaviour management strategies to maintain a purposeful learning environment.
- Promote student self-esteem, independence, and inclusion in all aspects of school life.
- Prepare and deliver specialist interventions under the direction of senior staff.
- Keep accurate records of pupil progress in line with school systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in providing learning support, particularly in a maths context.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
- Understanding of special educational needs and inclusive teaching practices.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching or supporting maths at a primary or secondary level.
- Familiarity with lesson planning, IEP targets, and learning objectives.
- Experience with behaviour management strategies in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of educational technologies and resources.
