The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Coordinator, you will lead an innovative provision to support vulnerable learners and ensure their academic progress and wellbeing. This role is central to creating an inclusive culture where every student can thrive and succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate bespoke timetables and holistic interventions for vulnerable learners.
- Champion the academic progress and wellbeing of students, ensuring they reintegrate successfully into mainstream classrooms.
- Drive the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle for identified learners using evidence-based strategies.
- Collaborate with the SENDCo and specialist leaders to deliver proactive, personalised support.
- Develop and implement programmes that build confidence and self-esteem in students.
- Support students with their academic work and monitor progress regularly.
- Ensure interventions are tailored to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of learners.
- Promote a culture of inclusion and support across the school community.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working in education, preferably with young people aged 11-16.
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions to support learners facing barriers to education.
- Ability to develop and implement programmes that enhance student confidence and self-esteem.
- Strong organisational and planning skills to manage timetables and interventions effectively.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with the inclusion team and other specialists.
Preferred
- Experience in a Learning Support or SEND role.
- Knowledge of the Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle.
- Experience with student wellbeing and pastoral care.
- Familiarity with inclusive education practices and strategies.
