The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Teacher, you will provide individual and small group support to students with learning differences, collaborating with teachers to model inclusive practices and ensure academic success. This role plays a vital part in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with learning difficulties or special educational needs (SEN).
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement strategies for accommodating diverse learning needs.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' specific learning needs and develop personalized learning plans.
  • Deliver targeted interventions focused on building essential academic skills such as literacy, numeracy, and study skills.
  • Adapt teaching materials and resources to suit the learning styles and abilities of individual students.
  • Monitor and track the academic progress of students with SEN, providing ongoing feedback and adjustments.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates and collaborate on goal-setting.
  • Work closely with the school's support team to ensure a coordinated approach to student support.
  • Advocate for the needs of students with SEN and participate in inclusion and diversity initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Teaching certification from an accredited institution with a minimum of two years of experience in the field.
  • University degree in learning support or special education needs.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience working in the British curriculum.
  • Experience in teaching at a secondary level.
