Summary:

Learning Support Teaching Assistant - Term Time Only. Support pupils with learning difficulties in a highly supportive school environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to pupils with learning difficulties, helping them achieve their full potential within a supportive and academically ambitious school. This role is essential in ensuring all pupils receive the individual attention they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with learning difficulties through 1:1 and small group sessions.
  • Assist in delivering lessons as directed by the Head of Learning Support.
  • Participate in assessments and other tasks to support pupil progress.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Support team to ensure a consistent and effective approach to teaching and learning.
  • Work flexibly to meet the needs of pupils and the school’s schedule.
  • Encourage pupils to reach the highest standards in their learning.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Contribute to the development of individual learning plans and strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience in working with pupils with learning difficulties.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting all learners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable supporting the secondary school GCSE curriculum.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school or educational setting.
  • Familiarity with specialist learning support techniques.
  • Experience with teaching or supporting students with a range of learning needs.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and pupil needs.
