The Opportunity:
As a Learning Support Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to pupils with learning difficulties, helping them achieve their full potential within a supportive and academically ambitious school. This role is essential in ensuring all pupils receive the individual attention they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with learning difficulties through 1:1 and small group sessions.
- Assist in delivering lessons as directed by the Head of Learning Support.
- Participate in assessments and other tasks to support pupil progress.
- Collaborate with the Learning Support team to ensure a consistent and effective approach to teaching and learning.
- Work flexibly to meet the needs of pupils and the school’s schedule.
- Encourage pupils to reach the highest standards in their learning.
- Maintain excellent relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Contribute to the development of individual learning plans and strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in working with pupils with learning difficulties.
- A passion for education and a commitment to supporting all learners.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable supporting the secondary school GCSE curriculum.
Preferred
- Experience in a school or educational setting.
- Familiarity with specialist learning support techniques.
- Experience with teaching or supporting students with a range of learning needs.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and pupil needs.
