Summary:

Learning Support Worker needed to support students with disabilities and complex needs in a dynamic educational environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students achieve their full potential. You will provide one-on-one and group support, assist with personal care, and help students navigate their learning journeys. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with disabilities, complex needs, and autism in a range of learning environments, including 1-1 and small group sessions.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, communication, and medication under supervision and training.
  • Contribute to planning, recording, and evidencing student progress through data systems.
  • Support students during external placements, visits, and residential courses.
  • Liaise with families, carers, and other professionals while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Participate in transitions and changes in students’ learning journeys.
  • Maintain accurate records using the school’s information systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young adults with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behaviour.
  • Commitment to supporting students in achieving their potential.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team including teachers, therapists, and educational assistants.

Preferred

  • Experience in a care or hospital setting, particularly with behaviour support.
  • Experience with communication systems, therapy, and leisure activities.
  • Familiarity with data recording systems and educational planning processes.
