Summary:

Learning Support Worker needed to assist students with disabilities and complex needs in a supportive educational environment.

The Opportunity:

As a Learning Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students reach their full potential by providing individualized support across a range of learning and care settings. Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their learning, including extended curriculum, external placements, and visits, under the direction of session leaders.
  • Assist with personal care, mobility, medication, and therapy as required and under supervision.
  • Contribute to planning, recording, and evidencing student progression.
  • Support students in various learning environments, including swimming, hydrotherapy, and residential courses.
  • Maintain accurate records using college systems such as Data Bridge.
  • Liaise with families, carers, and other professionals while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young adults with additional needs, including those who may display challenging behavior.
  • Commitment to supporting students in achieving their potential and understanding the needs of those with learning difficulties.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, therapists, and educational assistants.

Preferred

  • Experience in the education or care sector, particularly with students with disabilities or complex needs.
  • Flexibility and willingness to support a variety of activities and environments, including personal care and general support work.
  • Current or previous experience in a similar role or training within the education or care sector.
