Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with learners, focusing on their individual needs and challenges.
- Facilitate challenging conversations with learners, ensuring their voice is heard and respected.
- Advocate for mental health and build a supportive, inclusive community.
- Work closely with learners to identify personal and educational goals, creating tailored support plans.
- Lead and inspire staff to effectively support learners, especially when addressing mental health challenges.
- Manage individualised schedules with exceptional attention to detail, ensuring safeguarding responsibilities are met.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including occupational therapists and speech and language therapists, to support learners.
- Adapt lesson planning and strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners and ensure progress aligns with long-term goals.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience working with autistic young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in developing and implementing individualised learning plans.
- Ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- Commitment to promoting mental health and well-being.
Preferred
- Experience with safeguarding and reporting procedures.
- Knowledge of assistive technology and its use in education.
- Experience in preparing learners for life after college, including employment and independent living.
- Background in autism studies or related fields.
