The Opportunity:

As a Librarian and School Archivist, you will play a key role in promoting literacy and preserving the school’s rich history. This is a unique opportunity to shape the intellectual and cultural life of the school while supporting students in their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curate and manage a diverse, inclusive library collection.
  • Support students in developing information literacy and reading skills.
  • Preserve and manage the school’s historical archives, ensuring they are accessible and protected.
  • Collaborate with staff and students to enhance library and archival services.
  • Participate in the school’s First Aid team, with training provided as needed.
  • Contribute to the school’s professional development initiatives and community activities.
  • Ensure compliance with library and archival standards and policies.
  • Promote the use of library and archival resources across the school.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working in a library, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Children’s and Young Adult (YA) literature.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Commitment to promoting literacy and lifelong learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with archival management or historical research.
  • Familiarity with library management systems and digital resources.
  • Experience with professional development and staff training.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of educational standards and curricula.
