The Opportunity:
As a Librarian, you will play a key role in promoting a love of reading and supporting the literacy development of Prep School students. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a dynamic, international community focused on academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and organize library resources to ensure easy access for students and staff
- Promote a culture of reading through engaging events such as book fairs, reading clubs, and storytelling sessions
- Collaborate with teaching staff to integrate library resources into the curriculum and support student learning
- Maintain and update library management systems and cataloguing techniques
- Develop and deliver programs that encourage literacy and lifelong learning among young learners
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and teachers to support educational goals
- Ensure the library is a welcoming, inclusive, and well-maintained space for all users
- Stay current with digital tools and technologies for resource management and library services
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working as a librarian or in an educational setting
- Familiarity with British curriculum requirements for primary education
- Strong knowledge of library management systems and cataloguing techniques
- Excellent communication skills tailored to young learners
Preferred
- Experience organizing events such as book fairs and reading clubs
- Proficiency in using digital tools for resource management
- Experience working in an international or multicultural environment
