The Opportunity:

As a Library Administrator, you will play a key role in managing and developing the Learning Resource Centre, promoting literacy, and supporting both staff and students in making the most of the LRC’s services. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vibrant and dynamic educational community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop the Learning Resource Centre to support teaching and learning across the school.
  • Promote information literacy and reading for pleasure through targeted initiatives and clubs.
  • Supervise student access during breaks and lunchtimes to ensure a positive learning environment.
  • Maintain and update the LRC’s collection of fiction, non-fiction, and periodicals.
  • Implement effective cataloguing and classification systems for all resources.
  • Conduct Year 7 induction workshops to familiarize students with the LRC.
  • Support careers-related activities, including administering work experience and career trips.
  • Coordinate and manage work experience placements for Years 8, 9, 10 and 12.
  • Assist with administration of the Careers Calendar and Employability Day.
  • Support staff and students with research tools and resources available in the LRC.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in library or educational administration.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience in managing and cataloguing library resources.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in supporting student literacy and reading initiatives.
  • Familiarity with educational software and systems such as Unifrog and Compass+.
  • Experience in careers and work experience coordination.
  • Knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks and health and safety regulations.
