Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted literacy interventions to support students in improving their reading and writing abilities.
  • Work closely with students, teachers, and parents to monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Design and implement engaging literacy activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure consistent support across the school.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and report regularly to senior staff.
  • Participate in professional development and training to enhance teaching methods and outcomes.
  • Support the school’s mission and values through positive role modeling and commitment to student welfare.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of school-wide literacy initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in literacy intervention or special educational needs.
  • Strong knowledge of teaching strategies to support literacy development in students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school setting with a strong focus on literacy.
  • Familiarity with assessment tools and progress tracking systems.
  • Experience with teaching students with diverse learning needs.
  • Background in Catholic education or values-based teaching.
