The Opportunity:

As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of students during lunchtime across the school site. This is a vital position that supports the school’s mission to provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise students during lunchtime in the dining room, playground, and throughout the academy premises.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere among students.
  • Monitor and manage student behaviour, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of lunchtime activities and routines.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff to maintain a consistent approach to student supervision.
  • Assist in the management of student transitions and movement around the school during breaks.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the relevant staff members promptly.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during unsupervised periods.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
  • Commitment to promoting positive student behaviour and wellbeing.
  • Flexibility to work term time only and on a part-time basis.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or pastoral role within a school.
  • Experience working with children from a range of backgrounds.
  • Understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.
  • Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
