The Opportunity:
As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and positive behaviour of students during lunchtime across the school site. This is a vital position that supports the school’s mission to provide a safe, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students during lunchtime in the dining room, playground, and throughout the academy premises.
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere among students.
- Monitor and manage student behaviour, ensuring compliance with school policies and procedures.
- Support the implementation of lunchtime activities and routines.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff to maintain a consistent approach to student supervision.
- Assist in the management of student transitions and movement around the school during breaks.
- Report any incidents or concerns to the relevant staff members promptly.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students during unsupervised periods.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
- Commitment to promoting positive student behaviour and wellbeing.
- Flexibility to work term time only and on a part-time basis.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a supervisory or pastoral role within a school.
- Experience working with children from a range of backgrounds.
- Understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.
- Experience working within a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
