The Opportunity:
A school is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance and Grounds team. This role requires general maintenance skills and the ability to assist with building security, furniture moves, and deliveries. Key Responsibilities:
- Support the maintenance and grounds team with general upkeep and repairs
- Perform basic carpentry and plumbing tasks as required
- Assist with the movement of furniture and deliveries around the site
- Support the Groundsman during seasonal tasks, including outdoor work
- Ensure the building is secure and locked up at the end of each day
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in general maintenance or related field
- Basic carpentry and plumbing skills
- Ability to move furniture and equipment
- Commitment to working in a school environment
- Willingness to work outside during certain times of the year
Preferred
- Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or plastering
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Flexibility to work varied hours
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting
