The Opportunity:
A Maintenance Carpenter is required to ensure the upkeep and safety of school facilities. This role is essential in maintaining the high standards of the school’s buildings and supporting the smooth operation of both King’s College Prep and the senior school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across multiple school buildings.
- Carry out minor improvements and capital project work in line with safety standards.
- Collaborate with the Senior Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize and manage workloads.
- Ensure all work complies with the school’s policies and procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and records related to maintenance activities.
- Respond to urgent repair requests and complete them efficiently.
- Work flexibly across both sites as needed.
- Support the delivery of a safe and functional learning environment.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Carpenter or in a similar trade.
- Strong practical skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general building maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documents.
- Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for site travel.
- Commitment to health and safety standards and procedures.
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening and DBS checks.
Preferred
- Experience working in an educational or institutional setting.
- Knowledge of building management systems and energy efficiency practices.
- Experience with capital project work and renovation projects.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
