The Opportunity:
As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of the school's buildings and facilities. This is a vital position that supports the school’s mission to provide a safe, comfortable, and inspiring learning environment for students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of school buildings and facilities.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with health and safety policies and guidelines.
- Coordinate with the Maintenance team to complete tasks to the required standard.
- Maintain electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems across all school sites.
- Proactively conduct repairs and renewals where competent to do so.
- Report to the Maintenance Manager and line manager, the Head of Estates.
- Support the upkeep of boarding and residential properties.
- Ensure all work is completed in line with the school's expectations and standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience in building maintenance and repair.
- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Previous experience in a school or educational setting.
- Experience with maintenance management systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
