The Opportunity:

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the school and its properties remain in excellent condition. This role is ideal for someone who is hands-on, professional, and passionate about providing a first-class service to a vibrant and supportive school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair all school buildings, facilities, and equipment to the highest standard.
  • Work closely with the Head of Grounds and Maintenance to ensure all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Conduct regular inspections and proactive maintenance to prevent issues before they arise.
  • Assist with the upkeep of outdoor spaces, including gardens, playing fields, and recreational areas.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff, students, and visitors.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all school premises.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support events, school trips, and extracurricular activities.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance work and report progress to management.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong practical skills in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and general repairs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits.

Preferred

  • Experience with school infrastructure and maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and procedures.
  • Familiarity with using maintenance software or record-keeping systems.
  • Previous experience in a boarding or residential school environment.
