Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Mandarin lessons to students across key stages.
  • Support the continued growth and development of the Mandarin Excellence Programme.
  • Utilize a wide range of teaching resources and electronic tools such as GoChinese.
  • Promote cultural awareness and enrichment through events and activities.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of Department and wider team to enhance student outcomes.
  • Participate in staff training and development opportunities.
  • Maintain a well-resourced and stimulating learning environment.
  • Foster student interest and progression in Mandarin through a structured timetable.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching Mandarin Chinese.
  • Commitment to student progress and engagement in language learning.
  • Ability to deliver lessons using a range of teaching methods and resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to participate in staff training and development programs.

Preferred

  • Experience with the Mandarin Excellence Programme.
  • Background in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
  • Experience working with ECTs or in a teacher training environment.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and international links.
