The Opportunity:
A school seeks a passionate and inspiring Mathematics Teacher to join a dynamic and accomplished department. This role is ideal for both Early Career Teachers and experienced educators, offering the chance to support high-achieving students aiming for top-tier universities in the UK and US.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a set weekly timetable, delivering challenging and engaging lessons that meet the high academic standards of the school.
- Set and mark work in line with school policies, maintaining accurate records of student attainment and progress.
- Provide extra teaching outside the timetable to support individual pupil needs and academic success.
- Assist with the marking of scholarship and entrance examinations as required.
- Write regular reports and provide constructive feedback to monitor student progress effectively.
- Communicate with parents through planned events and on an as-needed basis regarding student progress.
- Share innovative digital resources and participate in the Professional Development Review system.
- Act as a tutor to a group of pupils in a boarding house, supporting their academic and personal development.
- Cover for absences and invigilate internal and external exams in accordance with board regulations.
- Contribute to extra-curricular activities such as UKMT challenges, Olympiad training, and other sporting and cultural pursuits.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- An excellent Honours degree in a relevant field of Mathematics.
- A proven track record or strong potential for outstanding teaching and the ability to communicate mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to build rapport with students.
- The ability to use a range of strategies to facilitate learning and meet the demands of a high-achieving cohort.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Proactive in adapting departmental resources and producing new materials to share with the team.
- Experience with scholarship and entrance examination marking.
- Involvement in extra-curricular activities such as UKMT challenges or Olympiad training.
