Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective mathematics lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum requirements and student needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Contribute to the wider school community through pastoral leadership and extracurricular activities.
  • Support students in developing a positive attitude towards mathematics and its real-world applications.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continually improve teaching practice.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in mathematics.
  • Experience in teaching at the secondary level, or a strong commitment to entering the teaching profession.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take on additional pastoral responsibilities if required.

Preferred

  • Experience in pastoral leadership or a willingness to take on such a role.
  • Experience with curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
  • Familiarity with assessment and tracking software.
  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
