Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics and Computing lessons for Years 7-8, aligned with the National Curriculum and school standards
  • Identify and nurture talent in students with a natural aptitude for Mathematics, Coding, and related fields
  • Integrate cutting-edge technologies, robotics, and engineering design challenges to inspire creativity and critical thinking
  • Develop adaptive teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs while maintaining high expectations
  • Implement comprehensive assessment strategies, provide meaningful feedback, and maintain detailed progress records
  • Foster interdisciplinary connections between Mathematics, Computing, and Engineering through collaborative projects
  • Leverage digital tools to enhance computational thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the secondary curriculum

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computing, Education, or a related field
  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics and Computing to lower secondary or Year 7 and 8 students
  • Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Computing
  • Skilled in differentiated instruction and classroom management
  • Proficient in using educational technology tools and software
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
  • Knowledge of innovation, robotics, and coding
  • Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) knowledge would be advantageous
