Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Mathematics and Computing lessons for Years 7-8, aligned with the National Curriculum and school standards
- Identify and nurture talent in students with a natural aptitude for Mathematics, Coding, and related fields
- Integrate cutting-edge technologies, robotics, and engineering design challenges to inspire creativity and critical thinking
- Develop adaptive teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs while maintaining high expectations
- Implement comprehensive assessment strategies, provide meaningful feedback, and maintain detailed progress records
- Foster interdisciplinary connections between Mathematics, Computing, and Engineering through collaborative projects
- Leverage digital tools to enhance computational thinking and problem-solving skills
- Contribute to the development and refinement of the secondary curriculum
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computing, Education, or a related field
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Proven experience teaching Mathematics and Computing to lower secondary or Year 7 and 8 students
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and Computing
- Skilled in differentiated instruction and classroom management
- Proficient in using educational technology tools and software
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Committed to continuous professional development and reflective practice
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language
- Knowledge of innovation, robotics, and coding
- Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) knowledge would be advantageous
