The Opportunity:

As a Maths Teacher and Curriculum Lead, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of students with complex needs. You will design and deliver high-quality maths lessons while contributing to curriculum development. This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, and ADHD.
  • Lead and support the development of the maths curriculum in line with the school’s Trauma-Informed Approach.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning needs.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and contribute to staff training and development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and carers.
  • Participate in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the ongoing improvement of teaching and learning practices.
  • Support students in developing independent learning skills and building confidence in maths.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant teaching experience, preferably in SEN settings.
  • Proven ability to teach maths to students with a range of learning needs.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to design structured lessons.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated resilience and a caring, compassionate approach to working with vulnerable young people.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within education.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices.
  • Experience with teaching students with autism or ADHD.
  • Familiarity with inclusive education strategies and differentiated instruction.
