The Opportunity:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher to join our dynamic department and inspire students across Key Stages 3 to 5. This role offers the chance to shape young minds, deliver engaging lessons, and contribute to a curriculum that challenges and supports all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Mathematics lessons that motivate and challenge students of all abilities.
  • Plan and implement a stimulating curriculum that reflects national standards and promotes deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources, including problem-solving, ICT, and real-world applications, to support learning.
  • Assess student progress effectively, providing timely feedback and implementing interventions to maximise attainment.
  • Contribute to the development of schemes of work and departmental resources, ensuring they are innovative and inclusive.
  • Promote a love of Mathematics, encouraging students to explore the subject beyond the classroom and appreciate its relevance to everyday life.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives, supporting the school’s vision for excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour and engagement, creating a positive and safe learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a good honours degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a track record of securing excellent student outcomes.
  • Effective planning, assessment, and differentiation skills to ensure progress for all learners.
  • Enthusiasm for Mathematics and the ability to inspire curiosity and ambition in students.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within the Maths department and across the school.

Preferred

  • Experience in developing and delivering a stimulating and inclusive curriculum.
  • Experience with using ICT and other innovative teaching resources.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to departmental initiatives and whole-school strategies.
  • Experience in supporting students to achieve their full potential and pursue higher education.
