Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH and SEND.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students and support their emotional and academic development.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive learning environment.
  • Plan and deliver a curriculum that is both challenging and accessible, covering Entry Level to GCSE.
  • Participate in the development of the school’s academic and extra-curricular programme.
  • Provide regular feedback to parents and carers on student progress and development.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision meetings.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of students at all times, in line with safeguarding policies.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Mathematics in a school setting.
  • Experience working with students with SEMH and SEND needs.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviours and maintain a calm, supportive classroom environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Preferred

  • Experience with trauma-informed teaching practices.
  • Experience in a specialist SEND setting.
  • Experience with therapeutic training and support.
  • Experience with curriculum development and assessment.
