Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons across Years 7 to 13.
- Support students in preparing for advanced qualifications, including Further Mathematics, STEP, and Oxbridge entrance.
- Foster a Socratic teaching style that encourages problem-solving and independent learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues on partnership teaching initiatives with local schools.
- Participate in departmental enrichment activities, including Mathematics Circles and Olympiad programs.
- Contribute to the academic development of students through mentorship and guidance.
- Engage in continuous professional development and support colleagues in achieving Qualified Teaching Status.
- Maintain high standards of academic achievement and support students in achieving top results in GCSE, A Level, and beyond.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Strong academic background in Mathematics, including excellent A Level (or equivalent) grades.
- A degree or significant professional experience in Mathematics.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
- Ability to work effectively within a collaborative and supportive department.
Preferred
- Experience teaching Further Mathematics or preparing students for Oxbridge entrance.
- Previous experience in teaching or training within a school setting.
- Familiarity with Socratic teaching methods and problem-based learning.
