The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Mathematics lessons across Years 7 to 13.
  • Support students in preparing for advanced qualifications, including Further Mathematics, STEP, and Oxbridge entrance.
  • Foster a Socratic teaching style that encourages problem-solving and independent learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on partnership teaching initiatives with local schools.
  • Participate in departmental enrichment activities, including Mathematics Circles and Olympiad programs.
  • Contribute to the academic development of students through mentorship and guidance.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and support colleagues in achieving Qualified Teaching Status.
  • Maintain high standards of academic achievement and support students in achieving top results in GCSE, A Level, and beyond.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Strong academic background in Mathematics, including excellent A Level (or equivalent) grades.
  • A degree or significant professional experience in Mathematics.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative and supportive department.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching Further Mathematics or preparing students for Oxbridge entrance.
  • Previous experience in teaching or training within a school setting.
  • Familiarity with Socratic teaching methods and problem-based learning.
