Summary:
Maths Teacher needed to inspire and support learners with SEMH and SEND needs.

The school provides a supportive and inclusive environment for young people aged 16–25 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as other special educational needs.
The Opportunity:
As a Maths Teacher, you will play a key role in helping students develop essential mathematical skills and confidence. You will support learners in achieving qualifications such as Functional Skills and GCSE re-sits, while fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality Maths lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEMH and SEND.
- Develop and implement individualised learning plans to support student progress.
- Use a trauma-informed and creative approach to teaching and learning.
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly to inform teaching strategies.
- Collaborate with other staff to ensure a consistent and supportive learning experience.
- Encourage and support students in building confidence and achieving academic success.
- Provide pastoral care and guidance to support students’ emotional and social development.
- Stay up to date with best practices in Maths education and SEND support.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching Maths to students with SEMH and/or SEND needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a trauma-informed and inclusive environment.
- Commitment to student well-being and personal development.
Preferred
- Experience with Functional Skills or GCSE re-sit programmes.
- Familiarity with alternative education settings.
- Experience in using creative and interactive teaching methods.
- Knowledge of mental health and emotional well-being support strategies.
